This month’s presentation: The Recovery of the Elwha River
Our presenter for the November club meeting is Mike McHenry, fisheries biologist for the Elwha Klallam Tribe. Mike manages watershed restoration and salmon monitoring for the
Tribe.
Mike will tell the story that continues to unfold about changes for the river and salmon following removal of Elwha dams 10 years ago. Dams blocked spawning grounds for salmon and steelhead for over 100 years.
We meet at The Black Pearl Event Center at 56 South 1st Street, Washougal, WA 98671. Food and beverages are available. The public is invited and guests and families are welcome to attend.
